Most couples want their big day to feel romantic. One of the easiest ways to achieve this is with lighting. Lighting adds a level of ambiance that can truly elevate your overall guest experience.
Here are some of the most commonly used types of candles to help you achieve this within your tablescape and overall design.
Votive Candles
Votive candles also known as tea light candles are probably one of the most commonly used candles. They are mostly used around the base of your floral arrangements within your tablescape. They are generally offered or included as standard decor for most wedding venues. These candles are small in size and are encased in glasses of different shapes and styles.
Pillar Candles
Pillar candles are larger in size and are wider in mass. They are usually placed on elevated pedestal stands or placed within clear cylinder glass vases in alternating heights. They pair well with any style of floral arrangements or can steal the show on their own.
Floating Candles
Floating candles are flat candles that are placed inside of clear glass holders or vases that are filled with water so they can float. These types of candles can be arranged in variating heights to add some fluidity to your tablescape. They can be paired with your floral arrangements although they can also stand on their own.
Taper Candles
Taper candles are tall and slim candles. They come in all sorts of colors and can be used to add a pop of color within your tablescape. You can place them on top of candle stands solely or you can encase them in glass cylinders for added elegance. These candles are great when used in between your floral arrangements.
Candelabras
Candelabras go as far back to the Victorian era. They have been adding grace and elegance to tablescapes for centuries. They are tall and can really elevate a table with a grandeur feel. They can stand alone on a tablescape or you can adorn them with cascading floral garlands.
Hanging Terrarium Candles
Hanging terrarium candles are a beautiful way to add height to your design. They float in the air suspended by transparent wiring. They are whimsical and are perfect for garden themed weddings.
Outdoor Lighting: Bistro Lights, Fairy Lights & Chandeliers
If your wedding is taking place outdoors and will span into the evening, you’ll require adequate lighting to keep the party going. Bistro and fairy lights are wonderful outdoor lightning options that are playful and fun. Outdoor chandeliers are also a great option to brighten up and add the elegance of the indoors to an outdoor space.
